Our bush life

Both reserves support significant native bird life with species such as Tui, Bellbird (Korimako), Grey Warbler (Riroriro), Rifleman (Titipounamu), Brown Creeper (Pipipi), Tomtit (Miromiro), Fantail (Piwakawaka), Kereru, Morepork (Ruru), Fernbird (Matata), Shining Cuckoo (Pipiwharauroa), Kingfisher (Kotare), Waxeye/Silvereye (Tauhou) and Red Crested Kakariki being present.

There are also native geckos, skinks and insects including the Stag Beetle.
